Question 1: Considering the intake information you have so far, from the point of view of your profession, list 3-5 issues you would want to address in the evaluation and care of this patient
Your Reflection : Would address the dehydration issues have fluids going.
Continue to assist pt in pain management.
Discuss her advanced directives and religous needs
Question 2: What are the spiritual and cultural challenges that arise in this case? From your professional perspective, how would you take these into account when caring for Mrs. Green and her family?
Your Reflection : Would have referral to a chaplain to assist and reassure the pt and family with a meeting her pcp, oncologist and chaplain/spiritual aspect. Medicine and religion sometimes go hand and hand, some cases they conflict.
Question 3: What was accomplished by having an interprofessional family meeting that may not have been achieved otherwise?
Your Reflection : The daughter and son to really hear their mother express how she feels and what she wants and not what the daughter wants. Having the care team reassure the pt, educating them on the opinions, and coming to the conclusion of hospice services, most likely a support group maybe at their church to attend, along with talk therapy.
Question 4: What input from each team member did you notice to be beneficial in the care of this patient?
Your Reflection : having the team ounce again come together to support the pt’s family explaining the next actions to take with the care of the pt’s body.
