Introduction
Welcome to Yale University’s on-line resource and education program for protecting human subjects participating in research. The seven modules making up this resource review the core concepts for conducting human subject research responsibly. Each module outlines the ethical foundations underlying the responsible conduct described as well as the considerations that must be taken into account by investigators when preparing a protocol, conducting the study, and upon completing or terminating a study. The roles of the Institutional Review Board, government agencies, research sponsor, and other entities providing oversight of this type of research are also described.
