General Guidance - Post-Study

Generalizable knowledge that develops out of the research, often the only benefit associated with a study, should be made public as soon as possible. At the end of the study investigators should reevaluate the risks and potential benefits associated with their protocol and determine if these risks and benefits were accurately described in the consent documents. If these risks or potential benefits are found to be over- or underestimated, then adjustments should be made in these documents for future studies.
